Breakup of UK a price worth paying for Brexit, say Leave voters in poll

A large majority of Leave voters think the breakup of the United Kingdom is a price worth paying for Brexit, according to a Sky News poll.
Leave voters were asked if they thought Scotland becoming independent would be a price worth paying for delivering Brexit - 41% said yes, while only 18% said no.
Of the remainder, 17% said they would be happy for Scotland to leave the unx regardless of the circumstances and 24% said they didn''''t know.
Professor Sir Tom Devine, of the University of Edinburgh, said that, in the debate on Scotland''''s future and the future of the United Kingdom, the English nationalist voice would be most powerful.
"It''''s always been my view that if the unx comes to an end, it will come to an end because of either English indifference or hostility," he said. "I think at the moment there''''s probably more indifference than hostility, but there''''s little doubt that that is a brand of English nationalism, which is broad. Which in a sense is not really interested on whether Scotland continues in the unx or not."

John Denham, an ex-Labour cabinet minister and professor of English identity and politics at Southampton University, said: "I think the truth is that there is a set of voters who want England''''s interests protected, and if for them that means leaving the EU then if that had to be the end of the unx they would go along with that, that doesn''''t mean they''''re against the unx or they want it to break up but if that''''s what it came down to that''''s what they would prioritise."

I really want to stay part of the UK but will probably have to change my stance should brexit go ahead without another referendum on it first.
I can’t believe trump is backing Brexit, putin is funding BoJo, and it might lead to the break up for the UK and anyone is still backing it.
What is going on here? Are the English drinking the same koolaid as American republicans? Our country could be so much better except X and Y external influence is hindering us, make our country great again, etc, etc?
Surely Trump alone pushing for something should be enough of a wake up call that it’s perhaps not in your best interests? Jesus.

It''''s more of a sunk cost fallacy. But instead of money, it''''s rhetoric. Leavers have been parroting the propaganda and lies that high profile brexiteers have been peddling, and even when evidence to the contrary exists, they''''d rather shit hit the fan than admit they were wrong.
Russian influence on the vote? Negligible
Russian money to the brexiteers? Doesn''''t matter
Potential split of the UK? Who cares
Economic uncertainty with huge risks of recession? Meh.
Experts in economics explaining the costs behind brexit? They''''re liars
Basically there''''s an excuse for everything. As long as they get their way and can twist everything that comes out of this, they can stand tall and say that "democracy wins"... Even when that same democracy was invaded by a country that had also quite literally poisoned UK nationals.
It''''s now got to a point where leavers see remainers as "traitors" for daring to have an opposing political view. They''''ll dislike anything remainers like and like anything remainers dislike.
It''''s a sad state of affairs. And it doesn''''t surprise me that places like Scotland are now looking to move away from the struggling UK.

I feel about the Scottish independence question the same way Europeans probably feel about Brexit. It''''s probably not a good thing but it''''s also kinda like "eh do what you want" not about to let the threat of it affect decision making. I don''''t necessarily think it would even be definitely a bad thing for them. Dividing into smaller more accountable localized governments is a positive. I actually don''''t give a shit about geopolitical power on the world stage. Maybe life would be better off if we were a smaller country, who knows? There''''s a lot of other good examples.
