Books. Alright, I can do this one. It may be half past one in the morning, but hey, high school has prepped me for this since day one.
Speaking of high school, in my state, part of the 12th grade curriculum is the book 1984 by George Orwell. In it, he describes a dystopian future in which a political party has managed to obtain complete control over society. No action goes unseen, no word unheard, and no thought unread. It demands complete and utter loyalty from its members, and in return it gives them whatever they would need to survive.
The Party, as it is lovingly referred to, has such total control over its people that marriages are arranged by the government, education is provided by the government, food is issued by the government. News, industrial processes, sports, even fortification-all controlled by the government. The Party is absolute.
Now, let us shy away from fiction and into reality. There is a period of time referred to as the Enlightenment, in which mankind as a whole opened up its eyes and realized that we were capable of much more than we had previously accomplished. Philosophers met frequently to exchange thoughts, and eventually certain philosophers wrote their thoughts ans ideas into books. These books aided the transfer of ideas immensely. In fact, they were so influential that eventually a group of colonies banded together and rebelled against the most powerful empire of the time in an attempt to establish a government based upon the ideas of the Enlightment era. They were successful, and thus the United States was born.
Oh, and if you have not managed to derive the reason why you should read books, let me explain. By partaking in a well written book, you are exposing yourself to the inner workings of somebody else's mind. You are catching a glimpse of their passions and values. You are absorbing a piece of their being. You can then utilize that knowledge that you have gained to be a good and productive member of society, one that can make wise and just and decisions, amd you will in turn be able to make your own mark on history.
Aurel Kurtula, I read
Since you ask “why is reading important” you know that it is important. Then, if reading is important why does it matter which books you start with? If reading is important, then you’ll start reading now and you’ll finish a week before your death. So, as a life long reader, Whether you start with book A and finish with book Z, or start with book P and finish with book A, clearly it doesn’t matter.
If you want to read start reading!
There’s a huge number of books. If you send all your life constantly reading you’ll never read everything. In fact if those 50 people spend their life reading and the combine all the books they read, it would not come close to the number of books published. Even if, we stop publishing books right now and you live to be 4500 years old (50 life times) you’ll still not read everything there is to read!
If you are just beginning, I highly recommend you go to your local library and ask how many books you can get out (I can get 12), then just look around the library and just randomly pick 12 books. Go home, or sit in the library and start reading. If one feels interesting, just try to finish it. If you went home with 12 books and you hate them all, return them and repeat the process.
I am an idiot!
Absolute idiot.
There are many ways to cure myself from my idiocy. I could go to university, get a doctorate in one field then another in another field. Or I could travel the world. Or I could hang out with important people. I could hang out with the Pope and get him to tell me the history of the Vatican. I could hang out with a lesbian and learn how hard it is to be a lesbian in a country that doesn’t treat LGBT people well.
I could do all that if I had the money, time, influence and, lets face it, if I could be bothered.Or I could get the similar knowledge from books. And all that can be found in fiction and non fiction. So I think reading is important an an easy attempt to understand the world and yourself.
I believe the best books teach you what you already know!
Think about that, when you’ll experience that, you’ll just know why reading is important, and you’ll not be able to articulate it any better than “they teach you what you already know” - not my original quote, many people say a similar thing.

Reading an article about tax policy will just give you the gist and a basic idea about that concept. On the other hand, reading a book will expose you to a long form idea that covers the meat of the subject that will help you truly understand the idea. If you want to learn something deeply, books are always the best option. Additionally, sticking to a book and finishing it will develop your attention span and give you a tremendous sense of self satisfaction and accomplishment.

Books made me think that I am capable to write this answer.
What if I ask you what is the importance of your girlfriend/boyfriend and why you always get attracted to opposite gender?
Your answer will be like “ they are the very important character that we need in our life. We are human being and we do have feeling and we do take care of that. What ever the curcumstance there is, we need this and we have to make this.”
So the same for your answer.
In reality I learned to read, write, and do simple calculations from academic books. I learned about alphabets and number from the school as a foundation and that's all.

So, after all books are the only one friend, tutor, explorer and my everything. Books lets me explore the world without even going to that place. So for me books are everything.
I suggest you read

The time spent to learn from the documented lessons of others is a priceless investment. Instead of trying to figure out life on your own, you get an instant shortcut when you read.
What took a person a lifetime to figure out, you benefit by learning in a matter of days. Plus the cost to read is often a lot lower compared to the trial and error you avoid from the author’s experience.
The book I’ll recommend you start with is The Power of Positive Thinking by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. This is the first real book I read on my own and it changed my life.
After your done reading this, then think about the goals you want to accomplish in your life. This will guide you on the next books to pick up.
Books Play an important role in our life. We get lots of knowledge about different topics. if we want to get anything like an essay, presentations, etc we just open the book & get the topic that we want. we can say that books are a real friend of our life. Reading a book is really a good habit because we can improve our pronunciation and every day we learn a new single word or more at least and day by day we learn so many things about different topics. Even I am also a book reader. every day I can read a book before sleeping & every day & I learn something new.
Give yourself thirty pages and if you don’t like it, pick up the next one.

Reading also helps you make better conversation, write better essays, and improves spelling and grammar.
Books you should start reading include anything that might interest you. What are your goals? Do you want to escape for a while? Do you want to learn something? Improve your life? Gain information on new topics or places or people? When/If you get bored, switch things up. Try different genres, authors, and age levels.
Just read, read, read!
