I would have to say Canada.
First off, Canada is very developed. They are the sixth most developed in terms of HDI, 11th in GDP nominal.
Canada is safe and secure. It is nearly impossible to invade, protected by two huge oceans, the vast icy Arctic, and the United States on south. They have the 14th most powerful armed forces, and are eternally protected by the US, the most powerful country in the world. Canada has no foreign enemies, and they are one of the most peaceful countries in the world. Crime is very low in Canada; one of the lowest in the world, in fact. It is extremely hard to obtain a gun in Canada, and concealed weapons are illegal.

Finally, Canada is a great place to live.

Having never lived in Canada I can't comment on that country. However Hari's argument sounds quite good. Personally, after growing up in the US and having immigrated to Australia, I'd have to admit to liking it down here and voting for this to the the best place to live. Everything Hari says about Canada can be said for Australia... plus we have sunshine, and beaches, and kangaroos.
