Great video. Very excited to see you get off the main tourist track to visit 維西. I was there 14 years ago in 2010. At that time there was no road to 達(dá)摩 temple, so my friends and I hiked there by foot. We didn't know how to get there and got lost on the mountain, but then we found a bunch of Ti...an ladies and followed them to the temple. We spent the night in the temple with the monks. Very memorable experience. I haven't been to the Songstam hotel in Weixi, but I stayed at the ones in Cizhong and Deqin. They are all exquisite. Which route are you going to follow next? I highly recommend you go to the 瀾滄江 valley and stop in Cizhong, then go to 梅里雪山 and 雨崩村 before you enter Ti.... Of course, 怒江 is amazing too, and there is a new road over the 碧羅雪山 from Cizhong to 迪麻洛, but that's quite far from your route to Ti... so I'm not sure if you'll be going that way or not.

My mother is from Yunnan and I visited there every spring festival! It’s such a diverse and beautiful place with good and spicy foods.

Everything beautiful here......farms are so neatly arranged & orderly! Just can't believe the natives here have a knack of building on cliffs & mountain sides....even on the peaks!!! Unbelievable!

In China, with the exception of the very old people, the rest incl ethnic minorities have gone to schools and are at least conversant in basic Mandarin tinged with local accents, so I believe that's how basic communication is possible.

BTW I am 13th generation Chinese who had migrated to Siantan Island, his name was Lim Tau Kian, he married to a Princess , whose father is Emperor Bowen on Ming Dynasty. Not sure if those descxtions are accurate. He converted to muslim, by the name of Abdul Hayat and now his descendants are all over Malaysia and Indonesia.

You speak such wonderful, perfectly understandable, clear English (and you also have a lovely voice ) but when I get google to translate people speaking Chinese into English I don't think it's doing a very good translation of what they are saying at all. It only gives me some idea of what they are saying. Could it be because there are different versions of Chinese?
