I’m an American living in China and I am not moving back to the USA. There are many reasons why. In this video, I talk about a few things and show you where I go in my daily life, and what parts of my day look like, from food to transportation, to going out, and more. What do you think of life in China, and how does it compare to where you live? Let me know in the comments~
@lm-pw9ul
Most things in Australia are overpriced but wages are still too low or at least my pay rate is still too low. For strange reasons there are more people smoking cigarettes (or weed) here eventhough they increased the price. Air quality is also getting worse here. Public transport still sucks as here. Also crime by teenagers (under-18s) are getting more rampant.

你也可以啊。申請個中國的英語教師工作然后搬過來就行了。

@George-k6o9t
@Long_John_Silverr You will need to have formal qualifications to teach in China now. They have increased their standards - very much unlike some decades before when they wanted English language teachers as quickly as possible. Not so any longer especially after they discovered scammers among the foreign teachers.
@grouchypatch9185
Hopefully they make it difficult. Too many unqualified ones. Not everyone can teach. ? @Long_John_Silverr

Americans, Canadians and some western countries the people can be so disgusting. Even providing very bad service to customers especially Asian customers and yet they expect tips. Tip is given to serving staff only if they give good service to customers and is to show appreciation. Not a must or complusory.
@bowenzhang2259
You’re right. I’m living in Canada now and the fact that I have to give out tips in Subway is absurd. I can take it that if I received some good service in a nice restaurant, I have to show some appreciation with tips. I’m fine with that. But now tips are just everywhere.
@MANO-RANJAN-e3e
? @yuanhuafeng9089 stop capping I asked this question on xhs they Said it was never part of the system so we wont pay them it's employers duty to pay it's employee not us. And Chinese consumers are hella price sensitive
@Lawrence_writer_ca
@bowenzhang2259 The tip message in the debit card reader at Subway is produced in the United States where tipping is standard. Tipping is not standard in Canada. But you're right. It's absurd to tip someone making a sandwich. That's their job. There's no extra work in it.
@Lawrence_writer_ca
Canada is a culture that does not depend on tips.. Australia and New Zealand same. Tipping is an American custom as servers are paid very poorly and depend on tips for their income.
@Tom67Slick
it's worse in California where all servers get paid full wages unlike other states but they still expect you to tip
加州更過分,服務員和其他州不同,能拿全額工資,卻仍然指望顧客給小費。

@Samo1228
You don't have to tip in Uber, but if the driver is nice, friendly & interactive then I do tip, I do the same to DiDi drivers as well when I am in China, often times they just didn't know how to react to the tips but happily accept it after I told them I appreciated the good service.
@markusgao3209
tipping is not recommended in China, it's potentially unfair to employees who provides good services but don't receive tips, and it may deflect the responsibilities of paying condign salaries from the merchants to customers. If you do appreciate their services, give a 5 star comment on apps
@Waingro808
Do NOT tip anyone in China. Respect the culture.
在中國不要給任何人小費。請尊重當地文化。

@NamuBang
Please respect norms in other countries. There is a reason they discourage it. It has a different connotation too in other places. Uber has a tip option. UberEats begs you if you try to check out without tipping. They even added a new feature that says you can even tip $1.00. I do not tip until after the service because some of the people are weird lately.

Her videos are always brimming with joy, and as a Chinese, I can confirm this warmth is real. The happy family she has in China is the best proof. Chinese guys are responsible and considerate, but many are held back by shyness and limited English, so they aren't very proactive.

I left Hong Kong for Canada and then US. My family is still in Hong Kong, ie my parents, my sis and bro. They feel comfortable living in Hong Kong for the safty and convenience. They travel to different countries and choose to stay in Hong Kong. I am glad that they have made that decision.
@richardlee4773
Then I don't understand why you do not return to live in Honk Kong if you can see that the US & Canada are going downhill.

YouTuber Andrew Henderson, "The Nomad Capitalist" lives, invests, and plays outside of the USA for nearly two decades. He surrendered his U.S. citizenship nearly a decade ago, and he never looked back. The reason: Life in USA has changed from bad to worst during the past two decades: high crime rates, mass shootings, numerous high taxes, high cost of living, unaffordable housing, no national healthcare, dismal public education, sky high university tuition; and living under a constant war monger government. Andrew's business motto: Go Where You're Treated Best.

I'm Asian and have been living in the USA for over 43 years. My home state is Arizona, and in the summer months, the temperature can exceed 117° f.
The problem for me is that over time, I acquired so much stuff like tools, engines, and cars. At my age, 64 years old is out of the question. Plus, I'm an introvert. Just give me my 5 acres or 10 acres with fences, and then I'll be happy.
@George-k6o9t
Same here in Australia! If I can learn Chinese at my age of 70+, I'd try to move over to China but I have been too "Westernized" as well. Hard to adapt now.

The Chinese students I've met in the U.S. are really great - very bright, friendly people. But mostly they want to stay here, not return to China. The grass is always greener somewhere else, I guess.
@yonight6871
In the Europe, even if you just have a cup of coffee and bread, you still have to tip. The tip must be at least 15%. What? Isn't this a simple job? No, you still have to tip. It puts a lot of pressure on consumers. If you go to a big restaurant, you have to tip 20-25%.
I just came back from beijing month ago, I missed every minute of it, and can't wait to go back again! And I loved the 豆汁... so so yummy!

I'm a New York City resident for decades. Yes, if I were you, I wouldn't move back to the states. It is outrageously expensive here as well as very dangerous. The infrastructures here is only 50 years behind China, and it won't improves. The only thing that they are building is very expensive condominiums. The tolls to cross a bridge for a car is $20 USD. The cost of rental for a decent small one bedroom apartment is $3000+ monthly in USD. The subway here is garbage, very outdated, very dirty, very dangerous
